Ep 2 - What is Naturopathic Emotional Release (NER)?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this insightful discussion, Karlie McKeand sheds light on the transformative power of Naturopathic Emotional Release (NER). She emphasises its critical role in holistic health practices, providing a comprehensive understanding of its applications.
NER serves as a powerful tool for practitioners to address the emotional core of their clients' well-being. By honing in on the emotions and stresses underlying physical symptoms, NER contributes to better results in client care. Karlie highlights that regardless of the practitioner's experience or the client's condition, NER offers an avenue to assess and process emotional drivers effectively.
NER's methodology involves assessing the subconscious through muscle testing and processing emotions using specific points and techniques, including elements of EFT. Karlie outlines its simplicity and safety, offering clients an opportunity to share or remain silent during the process. Insightful conversations may arise, enhancing both the practitioner's and the client's understanding of emotional patterns and behaviours.
Karlie underscores NER's relevance across a diverse spectrum of conditions, from anxiety, depression, and sleep issues to fertility challenges, trauma, and weight management. NER helps identify and process emotional drivers, enabling lasting behavioural changes that enhance treatment outcomes. Karlie notes that practitioners who incorporate NER into their toolkit offer invaluable support, aiding clients in reaching their goals faster and more effectively.
Addressing emotional health is paramount in holistic practice, and NER stands as a non-negotiable addition to the practitioner's repertoire. Karlie encourages interested listeners to explore NER's potential through www.nertraining.com, offering insights into this technique's remarkable impact on client well-being.
Incorporate Naturopathic Emotional Release to elevate your holistic practice and offer clients a comprehensive path to emotional well-being and better health outcomes.
With clients, when I've created my treatment protocols, I'm also assessing to see if there's anything that's going to get them off track. So I actually specifically test the treatment protocol that they're ready to either cut things out of their diet or stop drinking alcohol on a weekday or start moving their body or getting up at a particular time in the morning. Because if there's any resistance to these recommendations, even if they really want to achieve their goals, they're going to go against themselves. They're going to self-sabotage themselves and they're not going to get the results they want. And if they're not getting the results that they want, or it's really hard to keep that willpower in check, they're going to feel like they're failing, or they're going to feel like it's all too hard and they're not going to achieve the things that they want. Hello, welcome to the podcast Real Ease. I'm your host, Carly McKean, Naturopath, and the creator and founder of Naturopathic Emotional Release. In these conversations, I want to share about the real ease, getting to that root cause. If you're a health practitioner, these are conversations you do not want to miss out on. These are conversations that are missing from your studies. It's the missing piece to your practice and how you're currently working. We'll be chatting about Pracky Mindset, client results and potentials, business and all things in between. Get excited and get ready to be inspired. Let's go deep, let's get to the core and create real ease. Today I wanted to share a little bit about naturopathic emotional release. And if you haven't heard about naturopathic emotional release, I wanted to share about what it is and why you need to be considering a tool like this in clinic so you can get better results with your clients. Getting better results because you're actually addressing the core issues of what's going on with your clients. So it doesn't matter what type of practitioner you are, what type of conditions that you work with, what type of symptoms your clients present with, it doesn't matter if you're a new graduate or an experienced practitioner. You need a tool like NER to be able to assess the body properly, to see if there's emotions or stress driving what's going on with your clients, and a process to be able to process that from the body so that they can get better results and their health can improve dramatically. So naturopathic emotional release is that tool to identify and process these emotional issues for your clients because it's these emotions and stresses that contribute to disharmony in the body, leading to physical symptoms or undesirable patterns or behaviors in the body. NER or naturopathic emotional release is a process of assessing the subconscious through muscle testing and processing through specific points in the body, a specific process, and at times using some EFT in that process as well. So it's a way of focusing and assessing that subconscious to what's really going on, getting to those core issues of what's going on and processing that so your clients can actually resolve some big stuff going on in their system. So as holistic practitioners, we have to be addressing that aspect in our clients, that emotional aspect or that stress aspect to what's going on with their specific presentation. Because if we're not addressing that issue and that aspect, we're missing a huge piece of what's going on for them. And it's not enough to not address that because you are not trained in that area. Um, I also think that sometimes when we're referring our clients to other practitioners to address that portion, then we're missing out on being able to help them or also having insight to what's truly going on with them. So as holistic practitioners, we need a tool like NER to be able to identify what's going on. We get to have insight to what's going on with our clients, and we get to process that also for our clients so that we can truly help them and truly help their body and their system as well. Um I love NER because of a few reasons. One, because it's a really safe way of processing. Our clients don't have to talk if they're not up for it, or if you as a practitioner are not wanting to go into that side of things, you can actually do the whole process without having a conversation. But sometimes it is quite insightful to be able to identify what's going on and have a conversation around that because having insight to these particular emotions or understanding the particular patterns that are going on, your clients can have huge insight, and you, as a practitioner, also can have huge insight to what's going on with your clients. And I also love it because it's quite simple. So some of my NER graduates have done different types of modalities or trainings before, and uh the biggest feedback that I get is that NER is really simple, it's much more effective, and it's really easy to implement this process with your clients. So that's that's really awesome. Um, so getting back to naturopathic emotional release, it's like there's a lot of reasons of why the body becomes stressed. And so sometimes uh if that is happening for your clients, it's the primary issue of what's going on. So for us not being able to uh assess that, then we are missing and out on a few, like a huge piece of what's going on. I'm sure that you relate to um implementing a certain treatment protocol with your clients, and normally your clients get really good results, but for some clients, even if they're following along, they're just not getting the results that you expect. And this can be a really key presentation of where there's an underlying emotion or a stressor that's driving the symptoms rather than your clients needing a particular protocol. So doing both together, you're going to get better results, you're going to get to the core of what's going on, and your clients are going to feel better a lot faster. And that really reflects on you as a practitioner, which is really great. So if the underlying driver of your client's physical symptom, their stress, or their behaviors is an emotion, you have to address that emotion, or otherwise the body just doesn't completely recover or completely resolve that symptom. And um, and we don't want our clients dropping off on appointments. They don't you don't want to um like get your client in and they're not getting results and they don't come back because they're not going to feel better and they're not going to again um completely resolve what's going on for for them and their health. So yeah, taking herbs and um recommending dietary or lifestyle interventions are obviously important, but addressing the emotions and the stresses is an important and huge piece of the puzzle of what's going on. So, like I said, um naturopathic emotional release is designed to be used with all clients, regardless of their age, their gender, the conditions that they're presenting with. So any client experiencing stress, trauma, any sort of chronic issue in the body, there is always an emotional driver, or a lot of the time there's an emotional driver to what's going on with them. Um, and NER is a tool to also address any self-sabotaging behaviors. Um, and when you address the actual reasons of why someone's self-sabotaging, you help to create that behavioral change, and your clients are going to achieve their goals a lot faster. So if we can address why our clients are doing the things that they're doing, then they are going to feel better, they are going to have better results, and they what I also find is that they're gonna tell all the people in their life because they're starting to, um, yeah, they're starting to feel better and they're not battling against themselves. So with clients, when I've created my treatment protocols, I'm also assessing to see if there's anything that's going to get them off track. So I actually specifically test the treatment protocol that they're ready to either cut things out of their diet or stop drinking alcohol on a weekday or start moving their body or getting up at a particular time in the morning. So I want to be testing this with NER because if there's any resistance to these recommendations, even if they really want to achieve their goals, we want to be assessing the subconscious to see if there is resistance. Because if there is resistance, they're going to go against themselves, they're going to self-sabotage themselves and they're not going to get the results that they want. And if they're not getting the results that they want, or it's really hard to keep that willpower in check, and then they yeah, they sabotage themselves, they're gonna feel like they're failing, or they're gonna feel like it's all too hard and they're not going to achieve the things that they want. They'll drop off, they won't come back, and or they become quite difficult in actually creating like a plan of how they're going to achieve this. So when you actually assess and clear any underlying emotions or stresses that might get in the way or that's causing that resistance, there it's it's a lot easier for them to do what they want to do. It's a lot easier for them to follow your recommendations rather than sabotaging themselves and not achieving the things that they want. So NER is something that I use all the time to be assessing for that because this is the way of creating behavioral change. Rather than creating a plan and using talk to be able to make a plan or create goals, we're assessing the body and and helping the body to follow through with those recommendations. Um, because with practitioners that I work with, I think that that's the biggest thing in practice is that you can make the most amazing treatment protocol and your clients can really desire particular things. But if you're not addressing the root issue of why our clients are sabotaging themselves or having resistance to those particular things, then our clients are not going to get those results. They're gonna they're gonna self-sabotage themselves. Hey, sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to let you know I have a free four-part video series all about naturopathic emotional release, what it is, how it can help you get better results with your clients, and how you can improve your success in business. And if you have any questions about the NER training, please DM me over at Instagram naturopathic underscore emotional underscore release. So other conditions that you that I uh work with with NER, and gosh, as I said, every single condition, every single client we can be assessing for emotions, but things like anxiety or depression, um, kids that are bed wedding, that they're having nightmares, that they have food adversions, that they are fussy, um, any side um, so if they're having sleep issues, this can be assessed with NER. Um, any sort of chronic issues that our clients are presenting with, we have to be assessing for emotions because a lot of the time there's that underlying emotion that is keeping that in play. You can create a, as I said, a really great treatment protocol, but if you're missing the piece of the puzzle of addressing and processing the emotions, this is why things can become chronic. Um, constipation, IBS, any sort of digestive issues, we have to be attack uh we have to be assessing for emotions because we know that emotions can really drive the the physical symptoms in the gut. Eating disorders I get really great results with, or any sort of type of disordered eating, um, because again, rather than talk therapy, we're assessing the subconscious to see what is going on. We get insight to what is going on, and and we can also go back and see when that started and why that started. And we can create a plan and again be assessing the nervous system to see if the client is completely aligned to those recommendations, or if there is resistance, we can process that in the consultation so they've got more of a chance of following through with our recommendations. Any type of emotional issues, gosh, we've been through a pandemic over the last few years, and our clients are stressed. They are stressed, they um they're anxious, and and this the last few years have contributed to a lot of particular behaviors that they are stuck with. So they are eating more, they're drinking more, they're moving less. A lot of our clients are anxious, even if they had never had that anxiety. So we need to be helping them and truly helping them address that core issues of processing the emotions around what's going on, processing the emotions around the uncertainty, processing the emotions around the change, processing in the emotions around the fear, the fear of um things that are going on in our world. And if we can address that and we can process that, we make a huge shift in the uh the nervous system, which significantly helps their body, significantly helps their mental health, uh, and really helps their state and their well-being. I work a lot with fears, I work a lot with fertility, I work a lot with um processing the stress and the um the trauma around miscarriage or or or the fertility um like journey, whether that's going through IVF or whether that's just the the huge roller coaster that um people go through when they are wanting to have a baby and it's and a little bit more challenging for them. I work with um working with the hormones because if we're not addressing emotions and stress, then I feel that when we're using herbs and nutrients to modulate and and balance hormones, again, what sometimes we're not addressing the root issue because our clients are living in a certain way. Sometimes they're working really hard or they're not taking time for themselves, or they are they're they're running their life in a certain way, which is contributing to why the hormones are in that particular state. So if we're not addressing the behaviors of why they're running at that particular rate, or why they're stressed, then again, we're only addressing one portion of what's going on for them. I work with um pain, I work with phobias, any sort of sabotaging behaviors works amazing with NER, again, because we get insight to what's going on and we can process that so that they can stop sabotaging themselves. Um, any type of sleep issue, any type of stress, trauma, grief. I work a lot with PTSD and weight loss or weight gain is um isn't like we need to be using NER as a non-negotiable because there's so many layers and so many ways that we can help our clients achieve their goals, whether that's through the physical symptoms of the body or whether that's through our clients sabotaging themselves or actually clearing anything around making a plan of getting them from um to their goals, we are going to get better results if we're helping them with that. So again, it's addressing the root issue rather than just making a plan and hoping our client follows our recommendations. So, as a natural health practitioner, you need a tool to address um behaviors with your clients. Assess behaviors and process any emotions that's driving the behaviors that are not helpful for your clients.
